Eddy Rivers Biography

Born November 3, 1959 in New York, Eddy Rivers, known as "The Brooklyn Cowboy", currently resides in Arizona.  He slowly developed his interest for singing while listening to artists like Elvis Presley, Engelbert Humperdinck, Frank Sinatra, and Roy Orbison.  Later, Eddy would be influenced by country greats such as George Strait, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Eddy Arnold, George Jones, Conway Twitty, and Gospel/Southern Gospel music as well.  He has been singing and performing since the age of sixteen and is now quite the seasoned entertainer.  Eddy Rivers "The Brooklyn Cowboy" is so versatile that his repertoire even includes Pop, Standards, 50's, 60's and 70's, and even offers a full costume "Tribute to Elvis Show".  Eddy has had many different influences in the music business, and when you see an Eddy Rivers show, you will see that.

Eddy has opened for several renowned artists such as Johnny Paycheck "Take This Job and Shove It" (Hernando County Fair Brooksville, Florida 1995), Joe Diffie "Third Rock From The Sun" (Tampa Fairgrounds, Florida 1999), Chubby Checker "The Twist" and Lee Roy Parnell "Tender Moment" (Sanford Heritage Festival, Sanford, Florida 2000 - in the Orlando area), and a host of other artists.  He has performed at famous legendary night spots such as "Legends" & "Tootsie" lounges on Music Row in Nashville, Tennessee (1998), The Tarpon Springs Winter Festival in Florida (2001), The Florida Strawberry Fest (2002) representing the NACMAI, The Villages in Ocala, Florida (2003 - 2008), the Vermont State Fair in Rutland (2002 - 2006), and the Citrus County Fair in Inverness, Florida (2006).  Eddy also puts on his own production of his "Eddy and Elvis Show" once a year.

In addition to performing over 200 shows yearly, Eddy donates his time and talent to the ALL CHILDRENS MIRACLE NETWORK, THE AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY (Relay for Life), and THE RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE.

The NORTH AMERICAN COUNTRY MUSIC ASSOCIATION INTERNATIONAL, INC. (NACMAI) has presented Eddy with SEVEN AWARDS including ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR and MALE VOCALIST OF THE YEAR (2002) at the Louise Mandrel Theater in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

When you see an "Eddy Rivers Show", you immediately feel welcomed.  Eddy loves what he does and you can see it in every performance.  It took quite awhile to perfect his talent (and 55 jobs to pay the bills).

"It doesn't happen overnight, says Eddy.  It takes a lot of hard work and never thinking you're above anyone.  I'm doing a job just like everyone else and we all have different talents.  I look at it as, I can't do what you can do and you can't do what I can do.  We were all given different gifts in life and this is my gift from GOD to give, and if you look and think of it that way, you stay ego-free (especially in the entertainment field)."

Another key to Eddy's success is that he respects everyone, something that there is so little of anymore.  Eddy is known for his incredible shows, as he captivates audiences wherever he goes with his style and charisma.

In a slowly changing world in which we live in, where music is so much different than what it used to be, Eddy stays true to the roots of music and all the great songs of yesterday.  Eddy is a traditionalist with just a little bit of a twist, making each song his own.  He has recreated all of your best loved songs and has put them into one spectacular show that will leave you speechless and asking for more.  Most people that hear Eddy Rivers for the first time are initially struck by the force of a powerful and unique entertainer, an entertainer that colors and flavors each song he sings.  Eddy is an immensely exciting singer, entertainer, and also uses comedy and trivia in all of his shows.

It is rare and heartening to find someone who sings what he believes and believes what he sings!  This is why Eddy Rivers "The Brooklyn Cowboy" can be called an artist and each one of his songs can be considered the "Very Best Of Eddy Rivers"!
